We came back on Sunday. My father was doing much better, specially considering that he was in a very bad shape, and the doctors didn't think he'd last. Now, he's laughing and in great form.... what do doctors know.. Anyway, the 4 days in The Hague and Scheveningen were nice despite the fact that it was raining every day except the first day. We checked into the Bel Air hotel, which sits more or less half way between The Hague and Scheveningen. The view from our hotel room was on Scheveningen:
On Thursday we went for a walk on the expended Scheveningen beach. They had placed many beach clubs there, making the walk very nice. A sand-castle competition was going on:
The Kurhaus hotel was as usual majestic, the center piece of the beach walk:
As I said, they had placed many beach clubs alongside the beach walk since the last time we were here. Each one has themes, and many had open fires going, both inside and outside.
Next door to the hotel was the annual Jazz Festival, so on Friday night we went and listened to many jazz artists play. There were 7 rooms, each containing jazz bands to which you could listen. You could walk from one room to the other. Very nice, and great music... We also went on Saturday to the pier in Scheveningen and walked the length into the North Sea:
Then we went to one of the beach clubs for coffee and great apple pie:
We also stocked up with plenty of Dutch food, and shopped until be dropped.....
