Today started with two guys arriving, and all three of us emptied out the shed and moved it to the garage.

The garage is filling up..

Here's the view of the new office. It's taken inside the shed. The office will be on top of the wall you see (the wall will be removed eventually).

Below the office used to be the motorcycle garage. It's empty now !!

And this is what it looks like when they started removing the floorboards from the "office".

And this is what the ceiling looks like when the floorboards are gone.

Lots of straw was removed (they used to keep chickens here.

The beams were removed, and by hand the paint was scraped off.

Hard work since they remove all the bad parts of the wood. It's done by hand....

But then they used modern means to remove the old paint.

Here all the beams are removed.

The beams are treated with a special product to keep the worms and termites out.

Tomorrow more of the same, when the start in on the 2nd half of the office. Already they've discovered that there are several beams that are rotten and will need to be replaced. Problem is that the beams are made out of oak, while modern beams are made out of pine, and there will be a noticeable difference. So they plan to check old builds around the area and see if they can recover old beams.
