Glock 17C Handgun
As some of you may know, I at times partake in shooting. I own a Glock 17-C handgun, and often go for a 30 minute shooting, something that helps me relax and focus.

A year ago, when I was still in Paris, my shooting club announced that they were moving to the burbs. Between going and following the Dakar race, and moving to Normandy, I didn't have time to go shooting.

So what, you may ask ???

In France, the laws are very strict on guns. It takes up to 3 years to get a gun permit ! And once you've got it, you need to shoot at least once every 3 months. Each official shooting is registered in a log-book.

And that was where the problem lies. Since I haven't shot for one year, I'm in an illegal position. But once I've called the authorities, no-one could tell me what to do, or what is going to happen ! This hasn't happened (yet), and I'm 2 years away from gun permit renewal.

The only thing they could do was tell me to write them a letter !!

So, here's a law to prevent sport shooters from going postal and shooting people, but no one knows how to use the law, or how to apply it in case of problems.

So why have the law !
