In the saga of the shed, that is now been going on for three years, we've had yet another setback. The rebuilding of the shed was turned down by the regional government ! All we wanted to do was put in a few windows and a dormer window in the roof, turning the storage shed into a storage shed and my office.

I got a letter from the prefecture stating that officially, the shed is an agricultural storage bulding (the previous owners had a farm), and since I was installing my office, I would need to change the urbanization status. Before you say "why did you tell them that it was for an office", you cann't explain away a dormer window in a shed..... they're pedantic but not stupid.

So now, after a meeting with the person responsible, I need to get an architect, yes... an architect, who will draw up the plan of the shed (as is) and sign an official document. For that, I get to pay something like €3000... for a building that doesn't need an architect, just put in a few windows in the roof. But, it's the law ! Oh yes... it takes at least 3 months to process.

Friday, I submit the separate permit requests for the garage. These have been done by the company selling the garage, so hopefully there will be no problems there, but then again, they will probably find something.

I was told by the person in charge in Fecamp, that the law now states that you need permission even if you redo your roof, or repoint your house. What's next ?? You need to building permit to hang up a picture on your wall ???

The French government really see the people was stupid infants who can not think for themselves ! Time for another revolution !
