So here it goes folks, my first ever blog, Mike finally managed yet again to get me hooked into modern day technology and hip cool ways to do things, in other words, get me out of the garden and kitchen and behind a PC . How fitting then that my first photos in blog heaven should be about a snowy day in December in Normandy. Yes, Beemer, our favourite doggy, you can just about see her, just loved the snow, and played around the garden like a rabbit in heat!
Meanwhile, Mike did not set a foot outside the door, until we went to visit our friend Sylviane who had prepared a wonderful lunch of wild boar for us and offered us a wonderful Bordeaux wine and aperitifs by a roaring log fire. Yes, it was a treat.
However, our normal 15 minute ride home took 2.5 hours. We had a flat tire on the car and had to pull over onto the side of the country road and into the wet snow, get out the jack, which was in multiple pieces, what ever happened to a good old jack thrown into the boot of a car? So, there we were, in a snow storm, changing the tire to the spare, off down to the local garage to get a replacement which they did not have of course. Meanwhile, I decided to shovel up the snow from the driveway into the Renault garage, so we could get out again. Took us one hour to get up the hill of Cany Barville as the temperature continued dropping and the snow continued to fall. Now safely back home, and snug as bugs in a rug, we are off to take a jacuzzi and forget about the minus 5,3 degrees our nifty electronic weather station is announcing to us at this time. Unbelievable temperatures, I feel I'm back in Finland. Nite Nite.
